Functions

There are four main functions;

• Information Services;

• Policy, Research and Development;

• Providing support services for the Minister for State Enterprises and Information ;

• And recently the Privatization function coordinated by IPBC was added when the new Ministry was created.

Functional Responsibilities

The Primary responsibility of the Office includes the following:

• Collect, collate and disseminate Government development information to information and educate the general public.

• Research/Develop Information and Communication policies.

• State Enterprise - recently added.

• Facilitating and coordinating role for the Minister between the Communication entities on the implementation of communication policy initiatives and development strategies of the national government.

• This role has been broadened with the inclusion of State Enterprises which brings the Independent Public Business Corporation onto the Structure (IPBC). IPBC is responsible for all state enterprises and the implementation of government's privatization program
